Parking in downtown Suwanee: Town Center, Old Town and event days

The short answer

Parking in downtown Suwanee is public parking spread across the district: street spaces around Town Center Park and City Hall, a large surface lot west of City Hall, a deck across Buford Highway, curbside spaces at Town Center on Main and lots on the Old Town side, per the city's parking map. The townhome area south of City Hall is no public parking. The map lists no fees or time limits.

Parking in downtown Suwanee is public parking spread around Town Center, Town Center on Main and Old Town. The city’s Town Center page says Town Center has public parking throughout (City of Suwanee), and the city’s Downtown Public Parking Map marks where it is (City of Suwanee). The map names landmarks, not lots, and gives no space counts, fees, time limits, EV chargers or accessible-space locations. Its “Event Parking” link opens the same file. Here is what it shows, read October 17, 2026.

Everything the city map marks

Blue “P” marks on the map mean available public parking:

  1. On-street spaces on the streets that ring Town Center Park, on both sides of City Hall, and the lot behind City Hall.
  2. A large surface lot west of City Hall, between City Hall and Buford Highway.
  3. A lot east of City Hall, one long row beside the City Hall block.
  4. A parking deck labeled “DECK” west of Buford Highway, across from Town Center.
  5. Spaces along the west side of Buford Highway.
  6. On the Old Town side, north of the rail line: lots by the court building next to Station Park, at the police station, by the church on Main Street and by the library.
  7. Curbside spaces along the Town Center on Main loop road.
  8. A row of on-street spaces along the street south of City Hall, between Town Center and the homes.

Where not to park

The map shades the residential neighborhood directly south of City Hall and Town Center, the rows of townhomes, in red: no public parking.

Event days

The city publishes no separate event-night parking plan. Here is what organizers have said:

  • Suwanee Fest. In its 2025 release the city said parking is unavailable at Town Center during the festival and urged people to use the free off-site shuttle lots (City of Suwanee). For 2026 the festival ran free shuttles from three lots, with accessible shuttles from the Shadowbrook Church lot and dogs allowed on shuttles (Suwanee Fest). The 2026 festival was September 19–20, and 2027 dates have not been announced (Suwanee Fest). Lots and shuttle hours changed between years, so check the festival’s parking page before you go.
  • Summer Porch Jam. For the 2025 edition the city told visitors to park at Town Center “behind Ippolito’s” and walk about ten minutes to Old Town, or take a free shuttle (City of Suwanee). A city release also pointed walkers to the pedestrian tunnel near the library (City of Suwanee). No 2026 Porch Jam information was ever posted.
  • Suwanee Beer Fest (Saturday, March 20, 2027). The organizer’s FAQ says parking is available at Town Center Park, on Main Street and on Buford Highway, and that only certified service dogs are allowed (Suwanee Beer Fest). That FAQ still describes the 2026 festival, so recheck it nearer the date.
  • Suwanee Wine Fest (Saturday, November 7, 2026), the Classic Car Show (Sunday, November 8, 2026) and Jolly Holly Day (Friday, December 4, 2026). We found no event-specific parking guidance from their hosts. Use the map areas above; see our Jolly Holly Day guide and events page.

Driving directions

  • From I-85 north: take exit 111 (Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road) and turn left. Drive about 2.5 miles to Buford Highway (Highway 23) and turn left at the light. Your first left is Town Center Avenue, where City Hall stands (City of Suwanee).
  • From Peachtree Industrial Boulevard north: turn right onto Suwanee Dam Road, go through the first light, cross Buford Highway, and take the first right onto Town Center Avenue.
  • To Old Town: Main Street runs parallel to Buford Highway just west of the railroad tracks.
  • Distances: the city puts Suwanee about 30 miles north of Atlanta (City of Suwanee) and Hartsfield International Airport about 40 miles south, straight down I-85 (City of Suwanee). No drive times are published.

Without a car

  • Bikes. The city partners with Koloni on complimentary downtown bikes: the first 2 hours are free, then $2 per hour. Bikes are kept at Town Center Park, Town Center on Main and Suwanee Creek Park (City of Suwanee).
  • Bus. A December 2023 city release said Ride Gwinnett Route 50 runs Monday to Saturday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., from Sugarloaf Mills through Town Center, past the Mall of Georgia, to the Exchange at Coolray Field, for a $2.50 fare with free transfers (City of Suwanee). That release is from 2023, so check the current schedule and fare with Ride Gwinnett.
  • On foot between the districts. Town Center on Main is “just through the pedestrian tunnel” from Town Center Park (City of Suwanee).
